statement
Like many artists, my work involves some form of personal reflection and storytelling. My work is about contextualizing these personal reflections and stories, transforming them into visual art in the forms of drawing, painting and collage.
Most recently, I have been making a number of series focused around the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered) Communities. I cover sociopolitical topics ranging from the debate on same-sex marriage to the role religion plays on LGBT rights.
My desire to focus on the LGBT community comes from my own personal journey and struggle to gain equal marriage rights. I take interest in studying the history behind certain civil rights movements. My artwork displays an awareness of myself and the countless other LGBT individuals and allies that are currently fighting for same-sex equal rights.
